About Me I write as a sign of freedom. One does not have to be identified by the specific thing he does. He can be free to do what he loves in spite of the professional title. I love music yet I am not a professional musician. I love humor but I am not a comedian. I love God but I am not a theologian. I love art and I am not an artist.
However, I love children and I am a daddy. I love a woman and I am a husband. I love my family and I am a son, brother, and uncle. Writing is a tool of expression. Anyone can do it. And so I write. These stories, blogs, journal entries are an expression of my loves. I hope that in reading them you will find joy, hope, passion, freedom and love. I promise I will not filter the pain, hurt, hate, and hopelessness of my experiences. Because in those experiences and through those storms, I too have found joy, hope, passion, freedom, and love. I'm currently enrolled in graduate studies for Marriage and Family Therapy to become a licensed MFT counselor. I feel like over the last decade, God has really shown me some things I am passionate about. In addition to the counseling, my wife and I have started a non-profit organization to positively affect the foster adopt community. F.A.S.T. Help stands for Foster Adopt Support Team Help and we provide need specific care packages to foster families who have received a placement. Our hope is to limit the amount of trauma each child needs to work through by allowing the receiving foster family some support for the immediate needs of the child(ren). We want foster families to focus on bonding with each child and not worry about some of the more immediate and pressing needs like additional clothes for the child or age and gender specific toys. It is our hope that we can help to provide for some of these needs and promote a spirit of bonding for each family we serve. Enjoy, comment, and share with others. I would love the feedback. |
Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. -Psalm 121: 1-2 |
